Give your old bike a second life

We take bike donations during our shop’s open hours.

Your bike donations help us improve the lives of community members in need of reliable, affordable transportation.

A bike can be a life-changing solution, bringing health, wealth, and opportunity for members of our community who would not otherwise be able to access this resource.

We accept youth and adult bike donations!

Yes, we take donated bikes!

How to Donate a Bike

  • Learn to Ride

The Learn to Ride program teaches people of all ages how to ride bicycles. It is made possible through a collaboration of Shift Community Cycles, Safe Routes to School, Cascadia Mobility, City of Eugene, and Lane County.

Shift Community Cycles’ role in the program is to ensure the safety and comfort of all Learn to Ride participants. We run bicycle safety checks, make sure helmets fit properly, and that each individual feels supported and comfortable as they learn to ride.

  • Community Group Rides

BEST, Peace Health, GEARs, Klink, and Shift Community Cycles have joined forces to pool resources and gather support for community group rides.

By working together in solidarity to organize rides as well as planning larger collaborative projects, we increase participation as well continue building bicycle culture and working towards a supportive community structure. to stay up to date on rides and events, check our event page!

  • Free Bikes 4 Kidz

Free Bikes 4 Kidz Eugene-Springfield was founded in 2018 with a goal to help all kids ride into a happier, healthier childhood by providing bikes to those most in need.

Shift Community Cycles is one of the community partners who makes Free Bikes 4 Kidz possible; each year, we take on the role of operations manager for the event and coordinate volunteers to refurbish and match donated bicycles with kids in need.
